ABOUT US

McKay Books was founded in 1978 as a "free enterprise library:" a bookstore which would contain a wide variety of books which an individual could obtain cheaply, keep as long as they wanted, and return for credit on other books in the future. The original idea remains unchanged, but the company has grown; and McKay stores are now a valuable resource for scholars, casual readers, music lovers, video game players, and movie buffs throughout the region.

BOOKS... At McKay, you'll find books of all types--from scholarly scientific and historical works to romance novels. Our vast and varied inventory of paperback and hardback books is displayed on nearly 2 miles of shelving in each store. We carry children's books, young adult books, fiction, and nonfiction. Books are arranged on the shelves according to genre or subject. Within each fiction section (and in some nonfiction sections), books are shelved alphabetically, according to the first letter of the author's last name. Aisle guides are posted throughout the store to help you find what you are looking for.

...AND SO MUCH MORE! Our merchandise also includes a wide assortment of used CDs, Audio Books, DVDs, VHS, CDROMs, and Video Games. These are shelved alphabetically within their genre. Used video game systems, accessories, and MP3 players are also available at McKay.
